GREAT LAKES
2008 Cubscout Night: Pack 314
With the help of Sam (Gig's Physical Therapist), the Great Lakes Freaks invaded Cubscout Pack 314 on October 16th! Gigs and Chainsaw brought in some bikes and parts and set up some simple bike maintenance stations in order to get Freaky with the scouts. The following pictures will definitely help to tell the tale of how to have fun and learn at the same time! Many of the scouts took advantage and used this meeting as a means to apply the night towards various awards in their scouting handbook.

This is the station that was set up for the scouts to learn how to properly inflate and check tires:
One of the other stations consisted of learning how to adjust the seats and handlebars. This seemed to have alot of appeal to many of the scouts. Hopefully learning how to make the adjustments will allow the scouts to set their seats and handlebars at comfortable and safe positions on their own bikes.
Comfort + Safety = MORE FUN RINDING!
This was by far the messiest station to have to go through, so of course, Gigs or I wanted no part of this station! Sam, the Fearless Leader, took on the ... ah......
honors (?) of mixing scouts and chain lubing. Got one of my rusty ol' chains to look like new ... almost.
One of the most important stations was the safety station. This is where the scouts could learn the ways to be safe bicyclists.
